Saturday 14th February 2009

Supporting Sandi Thom for the second time, this time south of the river down at the Pocklington Arts Centre near York, was an exciting prospect for The Restaurant. Again it was another new venue for the band but it proved itself to be a fantastic space willing to offer the band a blank canvas to paint their name on, big and bold. This beautiful English town brought together a variety of musicians of international origin to share their talents on one stage, including two guys from Miami. The boys from the US of A make up one half of the band Tristan & The Juice bringing some sparkle to the evening and needless to say The Restaurant's performance shined right on through.
Hopefully The Restaurant's Sandi Thom experience will lead them onwards and upwards.

Thursday 12th February 2009

As you may know The Restaurant scored two support spots with Sandi Thom, tonight was the first seeing the band head up to Dumfries through the snow to entertain our neighbours on the Scottish side of the border. The crowd reservedly watched as the band made their usual melodic introductions to the evening and as the band concluded the audience were holding back no longer and there was an exciting buzz of interest in them. Well according to Sandi, "There's only one Saturday night in every week" so see you in two days time to witness how great a Saturday night can really be.

Monday 9th February 2009

Another successful evening for the band at Ashington's finest gig venue, Bubbles Wine Bar, and whilst the wine wasn't all full bodied and aromatic the music of the evening was like a fine vintage, sharp and full of flavour. The quality of the music on offer had certainly pushed on to the next step for this the semi-final of the Battle of the Bands. All of the bands who played this evening had a style of their own and an obvious talent, but once again The Restaurant rose above the rest of the competition and played their way right into the final in a fortnights time.

Saturday 7th February 2009

A successful first round of the Battle of the Bands at the Three Tuns in Gateshead, The Restaurant made their way through with ease. The three competing bands last night were not of a similar style to The Restaurant, they favoured the harder rock sound and image, but The Restaurant won over the crowd, made an impression on the judges and secured a place in the next round.
